About the artist

Nikodem Szpunar (b. 1987, Rzeszów) is a Polish designer and artist who graduated in Design from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and also studied at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin. His multidisciplinary practice spans furniture design, painting, and experimental approaches to materials and tools. His paintings explore the expressive possibilities of mark-making, combining custom-made tools with acrylic paint to create abstract compositions. Recognised internationally, he was named Designer of the Year in 2019 by Arena Design and in 2021 by the Institute of Industrial Design in Poland. His work has been presented internationally, including in Milan, London, New York, and Japan.
